Studio Ceiling Rail — Get your lights off the floor | GS Studio

Ceiling rail — supply & install

Get your lights
off the floor.

A ceiling rail holds every light above your head. We move the power and cabling up there too, so no stands, no tripods and no cables cross your floor. You get the whole studio floor back, and you can pull any light down to where you need it in seconds.

Sliding or custom fixed rail · both take pantographs · KL & Selangor

Studio ceiling rail with a light on a pantograph pulled down over the floor.

We are the brand owner — GS LitBox, GS SnapVersa, GS Seamless, GS DryBox

Our equipment is used by big brands like AirAsia, ZUS, LG, Siemens, Fujifilm, Farm Fresh and more

We build wall mounted backdrops, cycloramas and full studios — the rail is part of the same room

We cover KL and Selangor, and the rest of Peninsular Malaysia on request

Why put lights on a rail

Your floor is the most
expensive space you own.

Light stands take up the part of the room you actually need to work in. A rail moves all of that up to the ceiling, where nothing else is competing for space.

01

Get the floor back

No tripods around the subject. You can move, shoot wide, and use the full room instead of stepping around stands.

02

We do the wiring too

We move your light power and cables up to the ceiling, so nothing crosses the floor. One team handles the rail and the electrical work, so you are not chasing an electrician separately.

03

Same setup every time

Lights stay where you put them. Come in tomorrow and your lighting is already where it was, so you start shooting straight away.

04

Works at home too

A small home studio gains the most. The room can go back to being a room when you are not shooting.

Two types

Sliding rail,
or custom fixed rail.

Choose the one that suits your space and the way you work.

Type 01

Sliding rail system

The sliding mechanism stays on the ceiling above you. Your light hangs from it and slides to wherever you need it — up and down the room, left and right across it — and a pantograph pulls the light down to you. So the light can reach almost anywhere above your floor.

  • Needs at least 3m x 3m of clear ceiling — no beams cutting through it
  • Lights move to any position without tools
  • Pantographs available for every light
  • Best for multi-purpose studios that shoot different things often

For studios that reshoot different things every week

Type 02

Full custom fixed rail

We design the rail around whatever your ceiling actually looks like. Beams, aircon trunking, sprinklers, an awkward shape — the rail is drawn to fit between them. The rails stay fixed, and your lights can be clamped along them.

  • Works great for ceilings with beams, low ceilings and odd room shapes
  • Planned around your usual camera and subject positions
  • Pantographs available for every light
  • The solution for a room that cannot fit a sliding rail system

For fixed setups like a live or podcast studio, and rooms a sliding rail cannot fit

Pantograph

Pull the light down.
Push it back up.

A pantograph is a spring arm between the rail and the light. Pull the light down to head height when you are shooting, push it back up out of frame when you are done. It stays wherever you leave it, so you are not fighting a stand every time you change the angle.

  • Fits both rail types
  • Adjusts height in one movement, one hand
  • Keeps the light out of shot when it is not needed
  • Add as many as you like, or only on the lights you move most

How it works

Got your own plan already? Send it and we will quote it. No plan? Send us the room and we will design the layout for you.

STEP 01

Send us your ceiling

A floor plan, or just a photo of your ceiling with the room size. Tell us if you have a layout in mind or you want us to plan it.

STEP 02

We propose and quote

We tell you which rail type fits, where the lights should sit, and give you a rough quotation.

STEP 03

Site visit

Once you agree with the cost, we come and confirm the measurements, the ceiling structure and the fixing points before anything is ordered.

STEP 04

Build and hand over

We install the rail, hang your lights, run the power and test everything, then show your team how to work it.

Every rail is quoted
for your ceiling.

Included in every job

  • Site visit to confirm measurements and ceiling structure
  • Rail, carriages and mounting hardware
